Takedown and deletion requests
Draft Standard terms pending review by counsel in India and the US before launch.
The short version
Plain language · not legally binding- Data owners and individuals can ask for data to be withdrawn from Quarry.
- Email trust@quarrydata.ai with what you're asking about; we acknowledge within 3 business days.
- We delist the data, stop new licences and tell every buyer.
- Buyers must delete the affected records within 30 days and confirm.
The numbered sections below are the terms that apply.
1. Who can ask
- Data owners who listed data through Quarry, about any of their data.
- Individuals who believe their personal data is in a dataset, or was used without the right basis.
- Rights holders who believe data was listed without their rights.
2. How to ask
Email trust@quarrydata.ai with the subject "Takedown request". Include:
- who you are and how you're connected to the data;
- what you want withdrawn: a dataset ID (for example QD-7K2P), or enough detail for us to find the records, such as the organisation that recorded the call or ran the scan and the approximate date;
- what you'd like us to do: delist, delete, or both.
Individuals do not need to prove their identity beyond what is needed to find the records, and we will never ask you to send us the recording or study itself.
3. What Quarry does
- We acknowledge your request within 3 business days.
- We locate the affected records with the data owner, through the per-record manifest.
- We delist the data within 5 business days of locating it and stop granting new licences for it.
- We notify every buyer who received the affected records, and the data owner.
- We tell you what we did, and when.
Because licensed data is de-identified, we may not be able to find records about a specific person. If so, we will explain what we checked.
4. What buyers must do
Under the Data Licensing Terms, buyers must delete the affected records from all storage and from future training runs within 30 days of our notice, and confirm deletion in writing. Samples held under the Sample NDA must be deleted immediately.
5. If you're not satisfied
You can escalate to our Grievance Officer. In India you may then complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
